Before You Ask Someone Else

New Moon in Gemini - New Moon in Cancer

June 14 – July 12

There's a lot happening in the sky this month. But here's what I hope you'll hold onto as you read this.

All of it is pointing in the same direction. Inward. Back to yourself. Back to what you already know.

The sky this month isn't asking you to figure everything out. It's asking you to stop looking outside yourself for answers.

We open on the Gemini New Moon on June 14 and close at the Cancer Moon on July 12. Between these two points, the sky gets busy. Mercury retrograde begins, Jupiter changes signs, Chiron settles into Taurus for the next eight years, and a Capricorn Full Moon asks us to take stock on how far we've come.

It is a lot. But it isn't random. Every piece of it is inviting you back into yourself.

The High Priestess

Each month before I write these letters, I pull one tarot card to hold the feeling of the cycle. Not as a prediction, just as a companion for the weeks ahead.

This month the High Priestess appeared. I couldn't have picked a better companion for the weeks ahead.

Look at what's happening this cycle. Mercury in Cancer stirring up memories. Chiron in Taurus asking where you learned your worth had to be earned. Mercury retrograde inviting you to go back and re-read the story. These are all quiet, interior transits. They don't ask you to do more. They ask you to pay attention to what's already there.

And then there's all that Gemini energy — curious, chatty, pulling in twenty directions at once. The High Priestess offers another way. She reminds you that you don't have to chase every thought that passes through.

She's not flashy. She doesn't explain herself. She just knows.

She doesn't need to ask someone else what she already knows. She trusts herself enouh to the answers unfold.

In a world that wants you to share every thought, crowdsource every decision, and have an answer ready before you've had a chance to think, she is a reminder.

Not everything needs to be discussed before you take the next step.

This month, notice where you already know something and keep asking others to confirm it anyway.

You know more than you think you do.

The Sky This Cycle

Here's a look at what's moving through the weeks ahead, and what it might be inviting you to notice.

June 1 — Mercury enters Cancer

Your memories are trying to tell you something.

June 13 — Venus enters Leo

Stop waiting for permission to enjoy your life.

June 14 — New Moon in Gemini

Follow the curiosity — even the small stuff

June 19 — Chiron enters Taurus

Your worth was never something to be earned.

June 21 — Sun enters Cancer

Slow down. Stay for the good parts.

June 28 — Mars enters Gemini

Choose one thing. See where it leads.

June 29 — Mercury Retrograde

Re-read the story with kinder eyes.

June 29 — Full Moon in Capricorn

You are not behind. Trust your timeline.

June 29 — Jupiter enters Leo

Let joy take up a little more space.

July 6 — Neptune Retrograde

What have you been seeing clearly all along?

July 10 — Venus enters Virgo

Love shows up in the small, consistent things.

A note on the June 29 cluster: Mercury retrograde, the Full Moon in Capricorn, and Jupiter entering Leo all arrive on the same day. That's a big sky night. Give yourself a little extra room to notice what comes up.

Before You Ask Someone Else: A Tarot Spread

Five cards to help you hear what you've known all along.

You can pull this at the New Moon, the Full Moon, or any time you want a clear look at where you are. Sit with each card before you reach for your journal. Your first quiet impression usually has something to say.

1. What I already know but keep asking others to confirm (High Priestess)

2. What this cycle is asking me to let go of (Full Moon in Capricorn)

3. Where I'm being called to begin something — even something small (Gemini New Moon / Mars in Gemini)

4. What wound around worth or belonging is ready to be looked at (Chiron in Taurus / Mercury in Cancer)

5. Where joy is trying to get my attention right now (Jupiter in Leo / Venus in Leo)

Start there.

Journal Prompts

You don't have to answer all of these. Start with the one that won't let you go.

On trusting yourself

• Where am I waiting for someone else to tell me what I already know?

• What would I do differently if I stopped asking for permission?

On your story

• What memory keeps coming up lately — and what might it be showing you?

• If you looked back at a hard chapter with kinder eyes, what would you see?

On worth and joy

• Where did you first learn that your value was something to be earned? What would it feel like to put that down?

• What have you been waiting to enjoy until things are more settled? What if you didn't wait?

On time

• What evidence do you have that you're further along than you give yourself credit for?

• If your timeline is your own, what would you stop rushing?

New Moon Ritual

For the Gemini New Moon -

June 14

This one is intentionally simple. You don't need much to hear yourself more clearly.

A candle, something to write with, and a few minutes where you won't be interrupted. That's enough.

1. Settle. Light your candle. Take three slow breaths. Arrive.

2. The first question. Write at the top of a blank page: What do I already know? Then write. Don't edit it. Don't worry about making it make sense.

3. The second question. Turn the page and write: What am I curious about right now? List whatever comes — practical things, random things, things that feel too small to matter. Gemini loves all of it.

4. Find the thread. Look at both pages. Circle one word on each that feels most true. Notice if they have anything in common.

5. Set your intention. Write one sentence that starts with: This month, I give myself permission to...

6. Close. Sit with the candle for a few more minutes. You don't have to do anything. The High Priestess is comfortable with quiet. You can be too.

Full Moon Follow-Up

For the Capricorn Full Moon - June 29

Come back to what you wrote. Not to judge it. Just to notice. The Capricorn Full Moon wants you to see the evidence of your own growth. It's there. You just have to be willing to look for it.

You are not behind. Your timeline is your own.

This is a cycle of beautiful contradictions. The High Priestess asks you to go inward while Gemini pulls you outward. Mars wants you moving while Mercury retrograde asks you to slow down. Jupiter says think bigger while Capricorn says trust the long game.

You won't lose yourself in the contradiction if you come back to what you already know.

Trust the quiet voice. Follow the curiosity. Stay for the good parts.
